Introduction of the 7 FCP.
The 7 FCP is a new cartridge designed specifically for F Class. F class is prone shooting while shooting 10-20 shot strings either pair fire of string fire at distances of 300-1000 yards. the case starts out as a 6.5 PRC.
the 6.5PRC has a case capacity of about 66.5 grains of H20. the 7 FCP has a capacity of 72 grains. to put into perspective the 284 Shehane has a case capacity of about 67 grains and the 284 of about 64 grains. the 7 SAUM has about 72.5 grains. we wanted to develop a 2" approx length case that had a 40 degree shoulder and would hold about the same capacity as a 7 SAUM. 7 SAUM brass has become nearly extinct so it was time to develop a case for f class that could shoot the 180 grain bullets in the 2975 fps area without over pressure.
Shown is the 6.5 PRC already necked up to 7mm for the H2O testing, and also shown is the 7 FCP for the H20 Testing.
