7.62x25 load

Hi all, I have a Accurate reloaders guide. It shows 110gr bullet with 11.7 grains of #9 Vel. 1688 Max load. Does this seem a little hot to you? I would start quite a bit under this. Any one else loading this combo 110 gr with #9?

Go to: hodgdon.com and start looking around.I looked at the lyman manual and it doesn't list a 110 grain bullet and even with a 90 grain bullet the charge's are no where near the charge you listed. If you own a hornady manual or speer look it up in their book.My cousin once used a load out of one of the free handouts and ended up with head separation and blown primers.

go to accurates load data....
they did extensive wwork with the 7.62x25 in the cz52...and a seperate test reported the russian pistol was stronger...
no test on the current chinese and others.

like any reloading you have to work up and do what is safe in your gun, it appears someone did not do that.
i did a lot of testing with lite bullets. 60gr...32 bullets resized to 309..
with aa9 i was able to get to 1900 fps.
the load you listed CLEARLY SAYS FOR THE CZ52 ONLY.
THE ORIGINAL FACTORY LOAD OF AN 85 GR BULLET TYPICALLY EXCEEDS 1550....

lol
well you have the book...you posted the load..
why worry about the top end ??
start low and work up
( i think it was originally posted in handloader or american rifleman)

Well I ended up calling Accurate. They gave me new data. 110 gr bullet powder #9 start load 7.6gr max 8.5 gr. Was I right to worry? If I had started low off 11.6 it still would have bin more than max load form the new data.

if that is how you load..i will stay away from you...
11.6 is NOT LOW....
YOU ARE DANGEROUS.
IF YOU ARE CONCERNED, YOU START AT THE BOTTOM AND WORK UP...

you do not START at ONE TENTH BELOW MAX.....

learn to use the manuals
learn to load...
your current process is dangerous.

like i said you are dangerous...

one does not START loading using max data as a reference point....

you start at the bottom and work up..

you and your process for determining a starting load ARE DANGEROUS.

MY GUESS is that the new lower loads are based on the cheaper guns on the market.

did you ask when you had them on the phone if these were still cz52 specific loads ??

i have shot the cz52 specific loads in my 52....safe.....

If I reduced the load bye 25% I would still be above the max with the new data I got.

I've shot a 110 v max out of my CZ-52
s&b brass cci#550 11.0 of AA-9, it was way too long to fit in the mag
1440 fps

I wish I had a good refrence to start. The Reloading guide I have only show max loads. That is why I asked on here. Duke I bet that was a neat looking load.

The old data from AA is simply wrong. Here is a link to more information than you might care to read about 7.62x25 and CZ52 pistols.

About at post 20, Clark has a post with several more links.

I have shot thousands of Berry's 110 grain with 9.0 grains of AA9 in both CZ52 and TT33 pistols.

Hornadys Max load for a 90gr XTP is (start) 7.8grs max 10.1grs of Acc #9 (1400fps). .309 Bullet dia. Only load listed is for the 90gr XTP. H110 same bullet (start) 10.3 (max) 14.2 1700 fps.

it did look great!
not practical at all, just experimental, the bullet is too long

well if you had asked that to begin with this would have been a different discussion. instead you started out by questioning published load data by a major powder maker/distributor. the problem is, i was around when they were doing the load development for the cz52, i had lots of discussions with them when i did my work with lite bullets. i know the data was safe in cz52's.

i do not know what guide you have that only shows max, but my guide from 2002 shows 10.5 to 11.7 for the 110spr rn with an oal of 1.300 FOR THE CZ52 ONLY
and that means in your cz52 you would still be safe as the data is for the 52..not generic 7.62x25.

sorry but you are wrong...
it was developed specifically for the cz52.
been there done that, still have the notes.
like i said earlier.it becomes an issue when they cannot control what handgun the handloader uses.....so they lawyer up and put out generic safe data....
but the original data works fine in the original guns.
