7.5 or 8 twist Dasher

I have both and I would like thought from others.
Quick load says. 29''bbl 36.6 gr H4350 105 hybrid 3077 FPS my 7.5 shoot 3070 8 twist same load shoots 3105.has any one tried a 34'' Ql says 3166. From what I have seen the 7.5 shoot better at long range. Larry

Well, i have a 7.5 and a couple 8s. So far the 7.5 has out shot the 8s. It has 2 1.2'' 3 shot groups at 1k and a 3.5'' 6 shot (5 were in 1.5'') under its belt. I was shooting 3 shot groups that day for testing. I think I like the 7.5. Although it could just be a good barrel.

mine are 7.83 and 8 to 1 twist i've used .237 and .236…… thats what's marked on them and it doesn't mean a rats rear end. It's the quality of the barrel, heck i had 4 shot groups at 1000 under an inch and the 5th opened it up to 2.1" I do like 4 groove barrels over the rest but i do prefer the Brux barrels, but i have a Douglas that is top shelf so i guess it's the luck of the draw. I don't worry about speed, i worry about small and i have seem to have collected a lot of wood and points……. jim

All mine are conventional 4 grooves with .236 and .237 bores. The 7.5 is a 237. I can't tell a diference in speed between the 236 and 237.

I had all makes of barrel some shot good and some are fire form barrels but the faster the twist the faster the pressure builds, so the 7.83 is the fastest i will go and that will stabilize a 115 DTAC. In a Bartlein 8 twist will, so i see no need to go faster. The quality of the barrel is what you look for not the make or the bore diameter,Brux is the middle of the road at .2365……. jim
