7-.300 PRC, who's built one?

After a lot of vacillation on another ELR rifle, I decided on building a 7-.300 PRC, with 190 A-Tips the intended projo.
Should be a straightforward neck-down using properly sized 7mm bushing in the .300 PRC die.
My blank just came in and I need to get my ass in gear and order a reamer.

Any feedback/info from anyone that has done this one, is appreciated.

Sounds like a cool project. I can't be much help on the PRC build, but it has a lot of similarities to the 7mm-300 Win Mag which many people have had success with. I have looked into the Win Mag because I already have a bunch of 300 WM brass and bushing dies. Apparently this cartridge can just barely reach the 3000 fps + accuracy nodes with the 180s, while the 28 Nosler is much harder on barrels for not much additional performance. I believe the PRC case has a few more grains capacity than the Win Mag so the performance should be similarly good and you can reach the accuracy nodes with a bit more room to spare. No idea where the accuracy nodes might land with the 190 grain bullets.

I have had one. Very similar to 28 Nosler speeds with less powder. Make sure you adjust the 200 line to .535 if your going to order a reamer. If you don’t already have the reamer and dies, I would just call Rich with Sherman Wildcats and get a 28 Sherman mag. He has reamers and dies and brass in stock. Or just buy 300 PRC Lapua brass which is in stock quite a few places. 77-78 grains H1000- 80 grains N570 with 184’s was a pretty easy nodes and worked well. 3100 fps in 24” barrel.

No need to mess with proprietary brass or dies as I see it (I don't want a rifle I can't get brass for someday like the Lazzeroni's), I can use .300 PRC dies with appropriate 7mm bushings. I'll make a couple of dummy rounds to send to Manson.

H2O to the top of the case mouth.

300 PRC:
Bertram = 89 gr.
Hornady = 97 gr.

300 Win Mag:
Nosler = 95 gr.
Norma = 95 gr.

30 Nosler:
Nosler = 99 gr.
Bertram = 100 gr.
ADG = 101 gr.

We started this pursuit right as Hornady released the .300 PRC brass in 2018. It was getting impossible to find or purchase 7mm STW and being competitors we certainly didn't want to use the 7mm LRM.
We necked down the Hornady brass, turned the necks for consistency and started load workup. I made the dies.

Long to short, the Hornady brass was too soft to allow handling the pressure to achieve the related velocity. It was useless.

I turned to one of the best American brass companies to explore the possibility of making the cases from scratch. Again, long to short, the financial responsibilities all fell on us. Try it yourself sometime. It's overwhelmingly amusing. They couldn't see the potential at all.

Try anything you want just don't use Hornady brass! Try to find any of the American manufacturers who have now gotten on the wagon for the .300 PRC.

Enjoy the process!

How’s this coming along? I’m doing the same, barrels at the gunsmith with bat m action. I’m using Berger 190’s, he talked me into them but a-tips were next.
