6XC suggestions needed

Hello, everyone. I've recently purchased a rifle in 6XC. Has anyone a tried and true load using IMR 4350 behind the 105 Amax ? Thanks.

+1 on this^^^ post.

I began shooting a 6xc in 2007. At that time I tried both H and IMR 4350 and at that time it was difficult to tell the difference. Since the great powder shortage of a few years ago H4350 is the better of the two and it's not as consistent lot to lot as it used to be. HOWEVER, I tried some of the 103's & 105's that were HBN coated with IMR4350 and it again showed to be nearly identical to the H4350. I can't explain it, and might just revisit it when I get a chance in a month or so. JME. WD

I shot stellar groups with IMR 4350 over a period of a month this past Spring...small sample. For hunting, R#17 gets 100 fps more, at a minimum, about 40.0-40.5g with a 105g. My 31", 8T shoots the 105's at 3270fps into tiny bug holes with 40.5g of R#17. I cut off the bottom of a 308 small base sizer and size the brass after this firing in Lapua small primer brass, primer pockets do not give up on the small primer brass...tough as nails. 6 XC is an amazing caliber.

I shoot 38.6 with either 210m/205m or 450 primers.... I use norma brass and Lapua palma brass that clown buster here made for me and shoot a variety of bullets very well... from 105 Hybrids, 105 RDF, 105 VLD, 107 SMK, 115 VLD, and both new and old DTAC 115... some HbN coated, some plain. Barrel life and throat wear have been very good with this combination and the velocity (2840-2880) works very well out to 600, I haven't had a chance to play at 1000.. I'm on my 4th 6XC and have enjoyed them all
