6xc loads and brass issues

Hi, I have 3 questions:

,1) I've been loading Sierra 107gr,not moly) into re-formed,Winchester) 22-250 cases, over 35gr of H4350. I'm getting cratered and slightly flattened primers. No stickiness, no split necks....yet! Should I worry?

,2) This brass never seems to lengthen, even after repeated firings, to anything like the specified trim-to length for 6xc cases. Problem?

,3) Is Norma or Lapua now making 6xc brass? Or is it DT's own company? How's quality? Or am I better sticking to re-forming 22-250 brass?

Thanks!

Uh, no. at 35g, you are shooting a very tame load. I run 38.0grs usually with the 107. I run 40.0 with the 105bt.

Nope. I have fired some over 20 times and havent had to trim them, even with full or overfull test loads. Win brass is TOUGH! WHich is why I dont p*ss around with anything else. I will say, however, I wont use a piece of fireformed brass in a match until its been fired at least twice, that way, you know its fully formed and you wont have bolt closing issues, etc.

,3) Is Norma or Lapua now making 6xc brass? Or is it DT's own company? How's quality? Or am I better sticking to re-forming 22-250 brass? For now, I am sticking to fireforming. I am working on my last 1,300 pieces now as I rotate 4,000 pieces, got 3 rifles to feed!) of 6XC as I normally have at least a couple thousand loaded up at any given time. Now, if Lapua starts making 6xc, I will get me some for 600 and back.

Thanks!

You need to read Davd Tubb's information on this round. Davidtubb.com.

First off with the 6XC if you want to get any of the advantages or utilize any of the listed loads you have to shoot coated bullets. With uncoated bullets, I'm guessing that 35gr is a hot load.

As far as the 22-250 brass goes. It is shorter than the 6XC brass and will never need trimed. You do need to squre it up.

Brass can be purchased at davidtubb.com.
