6XC info./opinions

I feel the beginning of a new project in the works and the 6XC has caught my interest. I would appreciate any info. out there around this caliber. I have a single shot Savage switch barrel rig and am looking for general info. from people who are shooting this round. It appears to be a very accurate easy to load round for 600 to 1000 yds.

Now that there is good Norma brass, the 6XC is definitely worth considering. The accuracy is there. At the 300m world championship, Team Norma did very well with it, and we all know what it has done for David Tubb.

Check out our 6XC cartridge guide, http://www.6mmbr.com/6XC.html and the Norma web site: www.norma.cc,Click the Union Jack flag for English version)

Moderator,
Thanx for the reply. I've checked out the 6XC cartridge guide and here's where I'm at. I have several .243 A.I. barrels chambered with my reamer which has a .270 neck. I've just finished breaking in a new 1:12" twist Pac Nor Super Match. I have two more barrels with 1:10" twist. Should I just get another barrel with a 1:8" twist to shoot heavier bullets in a .243 A.I. or is it worth going to a different caliber like the 6XC? I shoot at varmints and informal bench; nothing sanctioned or regulated. The club I belong to goes out to 500 meters and I want to be able to shoot accurately at 500 meters with a 6mm.

if you desire to shoot the 115's go to a 7 twist, my 8 twist seems to be just a little too slow for the DTAC's, and it's too fast for the 100grain bullets.,quite frequent jacket shedding occurs with j4 jacketed bullets) David shoots a 7-1/2 twist by the way. This round,6xc) is awesome accurate!

I have shot many 115s with a 8 twist Krieger. No problems. If you want to shoot the 117s, you will need a 7.5.

The older Tubb marked 6XC brass sucked. I understand the new stuff,3rd or 4th generation Tubb and Norma) is good.
