6x74????

at the St. Louis 600 yard national, steven dlack shot a 6x74 in the heavy gun class and was shooting a berger 105 in lapua brass. what is this cartridge based off of?

It's based off a typo of the 6-6.5X47 Lapua. ;)

The only cartridge I know of that is 74mm long is the .378 WBY mag, and I think it would be a bit excessive for a 6mm widlcat, though some of the Lazzeroni brass may be 74mm as well. But as far as I know, the longest brass that Lapua makes is .338 Lapua, which is only 70mm.

I am pretty sure it's a typo and he was shooting a 6X47 Lapua.

Maybe it's a 50 BMG cut back to 74MM, improved and necked down to 6MM? Oh yeah.

That's what I'm going with.

No, it was not the 50 BMG. It was actualy an improved version of the 20mm Lahti using Vihta Vouri N570 . The bullet couldnt stay together, but the plasma jet coming out of the barrel cut the holes in the target 600yds away.
