6x47L in 18" barrel

What are some of the best powders for a 6x47L in a 18" barrel? It is a 8" twist and want to shoot the 105's. Thanks for any and all help.

I would prefer to shoot the 105s for hunting purposes. I have shot 2" groups at 400 yds with the 105s and H4350. I know I am not getting full powder burn but it shoots great.

Then why does it matter how much powder is burning, if it shoots good and it's accurate, just use that load! KISS! Dig?

+1 for all comments above. With the short barrel, unless you shoot the lighter pills you will not gain much by going to a faster powder. You will still build peak pressure too early and be limited on pressure anyway. I doubt you will do better than the 4350 and as Erik says, if it shoots - use it.

I had posted the original question right when I got the gun. My second comment was after some time working up loads.

Have you chrono'd that load? Is it from a handgun or are you using a rifle with moderator? Interested to know the velocity you are getting.

Have not chrono'd the load. The barrel is a Krieger barrel that was cut down and threaded at 18" for a buddy of mine before he sold me the gun. It is built on a Rem 40x action.
