Shooters
Lots of good stuff here. Like all the stuff on .223 and 6TCU, I have both and agree with what's been said. With all that's being said let me bring to light a sleeper that most pass over, some because of BR shooters complaining about the 6x47 Rem. I had a 6x47 barrel back in 1975 a Shrere cut barrel. Later my mentor told me BR shooters are lazy and don't work through their problems well. He shot a 6x47 his whole career and set a current World Record along with many Regional and State Championships. All they had back then was Rem and Federal brass to work with. You had to measure body and necks if you were going to shoot 6x47 brass competitively. It was the Sporter brass 1960 till 1983 when 6PPC blew by it. Perry Morton won most of his HOF points with his 6x47.
I shot my second 6x47 at Pala a couple weeks ago knocking over 600M prairie dogs no problemo.
The key to the 6x47 is the brass same as other varmint/target guns. RWS 5.6x50 and Herters .222 Mag solves most of the brass problems but you need to trust but verify that you have done all you can with your loads.
