6x47 - REL 17

I've just read on Accurate Shooter, the use of Berger and Lapua bullets in front of reloader 17. Need to know a starting load for this powder. HELP

Twister, what grain bullet? I am shooting 38.5 grains of Re17 for my hunting load with a speer 105 grain bullet in a 10 twist barrel. I start getting pressure signs at about 39.5. I have had better accuracy with H4350 over Re17 so far in all of my tests, but the difference is too small to worry about for coyotes and antelope. Tom

Thanks for responding so quickly. I was reading the article in yesterday's daily bulletin about Texan Erik Cortina and Assistant Editor Jason Baney using 140 and 139 grain bullets in front of Rel 17. Trying to figure a base load to start with for the Rel 17 and the 140 grain bullets. Twister

For the 6.5x47 Lapua start at 37 grains and work up from there, you will find Reloader 17 to be very accurate in the 6.5x47 Lapua.

According to the bullet weights, I think we are talking about the 6.5X47 Lapua. Also he mention reading about me in the daily bulletin, and I shoot a 6.5x47 Lapua, I think the title of this post is a typo!
