6X47 LUPUA and 115 berger or DTAC

I have a 6X47 LUPUA and want to give 115's a try. Has anybody had any luck with a 1:7 twist barrels? What kind of velocities and any pressure issues? I only know of one person shooting 7 twist and 115's and I was very impressed. Just want some more opinions.

I would never choose a 1:7" twist barrel for a 6mm. Stick with a 7.5" twist, as that will stabilize all 115's very well.

A few years ago three of us in this area tried 7" twist 6mm barrels and all of the barrels had pressure issues. A 7" twist, in my opinion, is "over the line" for a 6mm bore - never a problem with a 7.5" twist but right there at "red line" with a 7" twist.

Now I know someone will read this and get on this thread and probably say the exact opposite, but the only thing I would use a 7" twist 6mm barrel for is fire forming brass.

+1 on what Robert said. I've been using 7.5 in my 6x47L for both Berger 108 BT and DTACs. It has worked extremely well, in all weather conditions, even when running the DTAC at what is considered to be very slow speeds (2,800).

I've got a couple of 1:7.5 6x47s, and while they shoot great with DTAC 115s, I've had to back off on charge weights, relative to what I can run in a 1:8 .237" bore bbl. in 6x47. Both of the 1:7.5s are .236" bores. Next time I need to replace a bbl. on one of my 6x47s, I'm likely going to use a .237" bore 1:7.8tw. Chances are that a .237" 1:7.5 would work a little better than my .236"s. I was blowing Berger 108s up during a BR VS match a couple of months ago....

Not to hijack the thread, I just received my 6x47 1-7.75 twist today and was wondering what you guys shoot for a load with the 115's?

Thanks for the help

The woman I shoot with shoots a 1:7 twist brux throated for the 115 bergers. She shot the smallest group at the 1000 yard nationals this year 2.686. We have had no problem with pressure and we are pushing the 115's pretty good.
