6x47 Lapua Varmint Built!

I had the Berger 88 not make it to the target in my 6XC a few times. But the ones that did went in the same hole. Barrel is a 1-8 and I would have to look at my notes to check velocity but I believe it was 3300+. I quit using them but something to keep in mind.

I too have a 6 x 47 Lapua that sits in a Richards Microfit laminated thumbhole stock. It really likes the Berger 105 VLD

Tinkered with some Bergers 95 VLD using VVN550, it has some potential need to try again in better shooting conditions

Just a little update on this rifle. I worked up a long range varmint load that I’m very satisfied with. 40.5 gr H4350 pushing an 87 gr vmax 3225 fps with a S.D. Of 11. Consistently under 0.4” group at 100 yards (most of the time in the upper 0.2” range if I do my job.) I really wasn’t focused on one whole groups every time, but more towards standard deviation as I plan to shoot this at game across a 440 yd field. I don’t have awful pressure signs, just typical flattening of the primers, but no cratering. I could probably go faster, but I wasn’t satisfied with the groups.

Man you got a sweet shooter

Several months ago I went searching around forums looking for load data with lighter bullets for a 6x47 Lapua I planned to build. Well it’s built now. 10 twist Shilen select match on a savage target action. Glass bedded the barreled action into a Richards rosewood laminate thumb hole stock. I’m currently working on some loads. 1/3 ish moa from the 88gr high bc Berger varmint bullets traveling 3050fps no pressure signs. I’m thinking on sticking with that load, but both 64 and 80 gr Berger loads Are in the works. I do have some old 75 gr sierras I will try as well. The 64 gr has showed good promise but I need to get the velocity up a bit. I’ll continue to post my data on this thread if anyone is interested.View attachment 1255250
