6X44BR

Im planning to build an easy shooter for 1000and 600yd BR (low recoil). Ive still got some of the URBR brass and I think 6X47L brass can be easily formed to the 44. Has anyone had any experience with the 6X44 and heavy bullet fast twist loading- like 105 - 115 gr bullets? Im thinking a 27-28" barrel, and hoping the trajectory and remaining velocity will work for the discipline.

I shoot 6/284... in my opinion it a very accurate cartridge, that likes to eat barrels, i have about 7-8 matchs remaining on my barrel. I bought my son a 6br recently and getting the feel of it...

When it comes time to rebarrel, I am looking for a accurate cartridge that can shoot 105-115gr bullets. I am very interested in a 6x44. I think it will come close to what I am looking for. What velocitys/bullets weight do you expect?

Please keep us updated.

rogn,

Joel Kendrick shoots a 6 X44 for 600 and 1000yds. He has set many records in 600 IBS benchrest. I think he uses 243 brass. He tried the 6.5 X 47L and it did work a well. I Think the small primer. I think it is a bear to make the brass. Look on this site info for Joel.
