6PPC velocity

rifle: background:
Nesika J: old original made in Poulsbo Washington
barrel: Krieger 1:13.5 twist:
round count: 500
bullets: 68 FB
Iam learning the short range stuff currently
I have never really chronograph: my loads:
a: LT32: 54+2 clicks on my Harrels powder drop
load shoot quite well:but when I chronographed was very surprise how fast it was: 3431 average
for 20 rounds: shot well
but question is this too fast?
I know I may kill primer pockets too quickly?
freshly made brass, no pressure signs: no bolt life issues.

b: N133: 29 grains:
velocity: 3250 FPS: also shoots quite well, this velocity shoots well

my question is for the LT32: do you think this is too high a velocity?? ( but it it shoots keep shooting it?, makes me wonder if primer pockets will die out quicker. I can always make new brass)

I shoot up in the PNW; where it does not get too hot.

any thoughts from members who shoot 6PPC
thanks
khanh

3400 and a little better isn't to hot with LT in the 6ppc. You will see on certain days it shoots really well there. Other days not so much on those days drop down a couple clicks on your measure and see

Primer pockets in Lapua brass hold up just fine at 3400 many many reloadings

if it puts 2 or 3 in a hole then spits one out at that velocity go down a number on your measure. It's really hard to pre load for this one it is so different from day to day. At least to shoot the little groups it is capable of you have to load for the days conditions.

Tim, you are exactly right: I shot yesterday: in am: about 54 degree, mild wind , shooting over flags>
it would shoot 3 to 4 good shots in one hole then spit one out, heartbreaker to see that one leak out
I will try shoot again, this time I will lower the powder few clicks on the Harrels if see this happen:
I was at 54+2 clicks on the harrel which gave me the 3450 fps range
I have a lot to learn
thanks

When the humidity is low like less than 30% go all the way down to 28grains. We're gonna get scolded if we keep talking numbers and clicks.
Anyway try that see what happens

Tim do find it the same as for N133?? (temperature wise, humidity?) is it as picky as LT32?
I am learning to load at range as I shoot.

I don't shoot 133 much. I just can't get a handle on it. To me it seems more sensitive to the days condition changes than LT
For me LT either shoots in that upper range where you mention or all the way down at 28 grains. I can usually shoot one or the other.
With 133 I couldn't keep it in tune for long at all
