6ppc from 6mm

I want to have a new 6ppc barrel installed on my 6mm 40xb. I have been told that it is safe to do this even though the 6ppc bolt face is slightly smaller than the 6mm.
Has anyone done this and is it safe to do this?

It is safe, but it may not extract the case.
You may have to go to a Sako extactor to get it to pull the case.
The ejector may not work right anymore either.
I would go to the gunsmith page from the home page here and find one in your area and ask everything you can think of and get their answers.
They are all very good smiths.
You may want to consider either a 6BR or a 30BR, they will work with a standard bolt face,.473) there are info links on the home page here as well.
I am assuming you have a 6mm Rem or .243 Win now.
