6ppc forming die from 220 russian who makess them

Who and where can I get forming die to take 220 russian to 6ppc I have neck expanders

The only one I know of is a die to turn 7.62x39mm to 6ppc. That is a redding product. Do you have a tight neck gun or a no turn neck for some reason? You will need an expander matched to the neck turner you will need to buy in most cases and a body die to just bump the shoulder in some cases.

No forming dies are needed to make PPC out of 220 Russian. Either load up the 220 Russian with 224 cal bullets and fire in a PPC chamber or neck them up to 6MM first and fireform them. Some people form them with fast powder and no bullet.

EDDIE that is great! I don't know why I thought that a forming die was needed I read everything on fire forming as you mentioned but never saw anything on a die better to ask then screw up

jonbearman thanks also I'm going with the benchrest version for small primer, I knew about the 7.62x39 but it has a large primer, right or not

Some brands have small primer pockets and some have large. I had some IMI back in the early 90's that had large primer pockets and it was some of the best brass I ever had. If you have a BR rifle make sure to check the neck diameter of the chamber.

Yes it is .262, Lapua offers 7.62x39 but I don't know if it is small or large the lapua 220 is over 100 bucks but if you figure what the dies cost guess your better off with the Lapua 220

I know I will have to turn necks , I am good there got everything needed from 22 cal to 30 cal.

Just a note, you may have to bump the shoulder back just a hair on new brass to get it to chamber without loading up hard on the locking lugs. Use your 6 PPC die for this. Set back just so the cases chamber and no more.

Your 6PPC's barrel Chamber will act as a forming die and will take the necked-up 220 to a fully formed 6PPC during your initial two fireforming sessions. 40,000 to 60,000 PSI will assist.
