6ppc built on 308 boltface

This has probably been talked about before, but i want to ask if anyone
had or has a 6ppc built on a 308 bolt face ?
i know it has been done and was wondering about haveing a barrel in 6ppc
for my 6BR. i guess the best thing would be talk to a gunsmith about it, but i thought
i would see if i could get some information from people that may have one.

If the type of extractor is right, there is no problem. My Viper has a .308 bolt face, and it was built as a PPC. What kind of action do you have?

boyd, i have a new haverkamp. sako type extractor, it will allmost pick up a ppc case.
i talked to tom and im going to get a new extractor, it looks like if i took a little of the extractor were it hits the bolt body it would tip in enough to pick up the case.

My BAT has a .308 bolt face and I use it as a switch barrel...6 PPC and 6 Dasher. It works well for both. It has a right ejection port and a Winchester type extractor. Good shooting...James

My old Varmint Hunter class rifle was a Rem 700 that started life as a 22-250. I used it for 2 years of IBS competition as a 6PPC. I never had one failure to extract.
I had made no changes to the Rem Boltface. YRMV
