if you mean a regular ol 6xc, I simply use 38.0grs of H4350 with the 107 class bullets. Not a speed demon, but easy on brass and super accurate in pretty much every bbl I have run in it, which has been lots of them. Also keeps me from having to do any load development. If I do want to go a mite faster, for say all 1000 yard work, I will bump up to 39.0grs, which seems to be another good velocity for my rifles. I dont mess with 115s...did, wasted time and bbls, moved on.

The nice thing about this cartridge, most anything shoots well.

Caveat: I am a sling/irons guy, not a benchrester, so my expectations may not be the same as others as I am the biggest variable in competition, not my ammo. YMMV

If you're talking 6 XC, I also shoot H 4350, seems to be a good powder for the little 6. I shoot 105 VLD's with 35.8 gr of Hybrid 100 and get very good accuracy, shoot 115 VLD's using 39.5 gr. H-4350 lit by WLR primers. I'd be careful with that load may be a little hot but works well in my 6XC. I'm getting 2,950 FPS with the 115's.

It doesn't seem to matter what bullet combo I run through my XC, 39.5gr of H4350 seems to be the most accurate. Strange from 87gr V-Max's to 105 Bergers or Scenar L's they all seem to hit a great node with 39.5gr.
They aren't speed demons at that charge weight, but best accuracy.
What are some of you other guys getting for speeds with the 39-39.5 gr loads of H4350?
My barrel is only 26" so I know I'm leaving some on the table there.

approx. 3000fps with 39.5g H4350,DTAC 115 BN coated, 27 inch melonited Kreiger barrel, ES and SD in low single digits

Mudcat turned me onto this load of 38.0 grains of H4350 with coated 107's, out of a 26 inch barrel. It gets to 2966 FPS with excellent accuracy. I shoot this across the course with all bullet weights. I have bumped it to 39.5 for a couple of 600 yard matches which ups the FPS to 3088 with the 107's.

Has anyone else noticed that 39.5gr of H4350 seems to be a hot spot for loads? I have had 2 totally different barrels on my Tikka M55, one was a 1-7.5 30" Krieger blank, and the new barrel is a 1-8 Krieger 26" #6 contour.
Both barrels, any bullet weights I tried from 87gr V-Max's to 105gr Bergers and Scenars all shot greatly better at 39.5 grains than any other charge weight. Almost all of the loads in the 26" barrel, no matter what bullet weight, the velocities are close to 3000. (105's are right at 3000, 87's are around 3050 fps)
The 30" barrel spit everything out approx 120fps faster.
I've run the 87gr V-max's right up to 45gr and 3400fps, and although they shoot okay for hunting loads (under moa), no velocities seem to group as well as at 39.5gr (under 1/2 moa consistently)

I'll stick with the 39.5gr loads for accuracy, I was just trying to flatten things out for coyote hunting, that's why I was reaching for the 3400fps range.

Thanks for all your guys help. I loaded up some 87 V-max with 38.5 grains of H4350. I thought I would start a little bit lower. This seems like a pretty mild load. I started out with 15 thousands jump. I only shot one five shot group at 100 yards and it grouped in the .3 range. If I get time today, I will work up the 39.5 load. and chronograph loads. Thanks.
Good shooting,
Gene
