6mmx55 improved/vias/arch/ect.....

Any shooters of the 6mmx55,6.5x55 swede parent case), I have the ARCH 40^ round. just read the articles in P.S. April 1998, Sept 2000 regarding the Vias round. I am thinking of a 1 in 12 twist, 1.250" dia. 26" long barrel to shoot 80 grain bullets, any thoughts?

I read threads last night and searched until I found that all this 6x55 stuff is just about equal to a 6-284 round. The extra money to go 6x55 would not yield superior preference for the effort.......unless someone unlocks a deep secret about the 6x55 I missed.

Is there anyone out there that can either supply me with data in regards to the 6.5x55 various improved cases? I’m looking for reamer designs and specs, sources for dies, load data, actual performance of that cartrige etc. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Lloyd

Lloyd,
I have a reamer that PT&G made for me based on the 6.5x55. It is improved with a 30 degree shoulder. I can run 115's to almost 3400 but find best accuracy at 3250 or so. 107's shoot great at 3400 but have never tried anything lighter. My barrel is a 1 in 8 twist, but my next will be 8.5 or 9. I believe that I can run 115's fast enough that the 9 twist will stabalize them. Hopefully the reduced stress will help accuracy at greater velocity. PM me if I can help
Rob

Rob,
I'm sorry I didn't clarify my intentions better. I'm looking to shoot either 130-140 class bullets for 600 and 1K matches.
Thanks,
Lloyd
