6mmBRX & light bullets

Anyone out there shooting the 6mmBRX using 55 gr. to 65 gr. bullets ? And if there is, do you have and load data you are willing to share ?

I have a 6mmBRX reamer with 0.030 lead on the way and hope to turn a 6mmBR varmint rifle into a little flatter shooting rifle with the BRX case and 55 gr. bullets.

Any load information/data you have would be appreciated.

Concentrate on H-322 or VV-133, for 55's. Moocho speed.

I have a 6BRX 14 tw. I shoot 70 gr Blitzkinds in mine with 68 clicks, Apx 35gr+ work up to this load)on my harrell with N135 at 3700 f/s using Fed 205 fed. 69 clicks will give me crated primers. This load is in a Bat action and is very hot. I use N135 in my 6BR also.

I use a 22BRX for varminting. Currently has a 10 twist lilja finished at 27 inches. Shooting 55gr BT's at 3745 with 34.5gr of varget and thats not seeming to be a hot load. I have backed it off to 3550fps with the same bullet and 31.9gr of H4895. Its nice and mild on recoil, noise and is very accurate. Once my last 20 or so 55's have gone, Im going to work up a load with 60gr BT's and varget again. Should get them up to the 3700fps mark or so.

Sounds good Brian and Mark...I love the performance and speed of the standard 6BR, but have been dreaming about a 14' twist BRX with a longer barrel to exceed 4000fps with the 55s,while hopefully maintaining excellent barrel life, cause I don't jive with barrel burners).

Anybody know what kind velocity one could expect with the 55s and a BRX,or any 6BR Improved) and a short tube? What about with a long tube?

I easily operate at 3800fps and a standard 6BR with 23' tube...and guys have been reporting 3850-3900fps with AA2230...so I was dreaming about a 6BRX with a 28' tube, thinking I could get an additional 100fps from added barrel length and 100fps from added/improved capacity. Think 4,050 fps is unreasonable in a long tube with the 55s?
