6mmBR question

Shooter65, yes your rifle could be re-barreled with a 6mm barrel. However, I don't think it would feed very well. Another thing you could do, is use your same barrel that's on your Tikka and just have it re-chambered to 22BR. The 22BR will require a little case prep,Neck 6BR Lapua Brass to .22 cal, Very Easy to do). The .22BR is an awesome cartridge, so that would be an option instead of buying a new barrel. If you do decide to do the 6BR, make sure to get a 1-8 twist barrel.

If you want to do 600 yard varmint matches, go with a 6BR. Make sure to get a quality 1-8 twist barrel, have it chambered with a .272 no-turn neck reamer and have it throated with a .100 lead for the 105grn bullets. I would highly recommend a Bartlein 28", 1-8 twist, 5R, .236 Bore barrel. I use a Bartlein Barrel on my 6BR and it's AWESOME. I love Bartlein barrels and will put them on all of my custom rifles from now on.

Also, if your going to shoot 600 yard varmint matches, just single feed your rifle or put a follower in the mag to make it a single shot.
