Hi Blaserboy,

You have to wait 4 months for a 6BR barrel? I ordered one for my Blaser R93 Tactical last month and it already arrived at my dealer. I'm in the Netherlands.

Can't wait myself to put that barrel on and see what it can do at 500 meters. I also have some N550 for very heavy bullets in 308W but doubt if it is usable in the 6BR. Vitha does not list loads. I'm going to try with N140 and Varget.

Cheers,
BolloX

thanks bollox. also might try vv540, please let me know how you get on with new barrel& what magazine your going to use if any . p.s. & what cartridge o.a.l. est.

If you can get Norma 203B, that should be on your "short list" of powders for that bullet range, along with Varget, N150.

203B is very similar to Reloader 15.

Hi Blaserboy,

Only shot my barrel at short range but it is very accurate with Lapua 77,factoryload) and 90 grainers pushed by N140.

This weekend I'm going to test her at 500 meters using Lapua 105's with N140 and N540.

Cheers,
BolloX

Hi Blaserboy,

Brief update. Tested 3 loads at,a very windy) 500 meter yesterday using,non-moly) Lapua 105's pushed by Varget, N140 and N540. Primers were 80% CCI 450's and the rest CCI BR4's. Cases were once fired Lapua sized with Redding Comp dies,.267 bushing) and a .241 mandrel. I used a Harrell's turret press, Harrell powder measure and a Wilson seater. Bullets seated 0,15 mm from the rifling.

Loads were 29.0 Varget, 29.0 N540 and 28.0 N140 shot from a Sinclair rest using a Leupold 8,5-25x50 LRT. Results are absolutely not decisive, for me) because of the heavy, gusting winds, and some hail) coming from 45 degrees to the front-left. Wind speeds I measured ranged from 6 to 12 MPH. Not ideal for load testing.....

I shot 20 rounds of each load and the Varget and N540 loads did reasonably well considering the circumstances and are promissing. The N140 load fell nearly a MOA lower and groups were awfull... I'm going to bump this load up a little and try again on the next occasion.

Cheers,

Hi BB,

Shot a national F-class match last weekend over short/medium range - 3/4/500 meters and came in 5th. I was using 30.0 N540 with Lapua 105's touching the rifling and cci450's in Lapua brass.

Wind was pretty stiff again and changing directon fast. a few unnoticed wind direction changes were what got me.

Now I'm waiting for berger 105VLD's and Sierra 107MK's to try in May.

Cheers,
BolloX
