6mmBR Load Devolopement Question?

Wondering if anyone has tried the CCI 450 primers with less than 100gr bullets such as the 80gr Bergers? The setup I'm using is a 30" 1:8 twist Pac-Nor barrel with a no turn neck and Lapua Brass. Your info will be appreciated. Thanks :)

Yes, That's all I use in my 1~8" twist 6mmBR.
66gr Knight FB's, 68gr Bart's FB's, etc...

Mine loves H-322 w/ CCI-450's & Lapua brass.

Here's an earlier pic before the the dedicated scope...

James,
have you tried many production bullets,Hornady, Sierra, Berger, etc), besides the "boutique" bullets??

Have you tried any of the heavies, 105s, 107s, etc??

Thanks,

I used the CCI 450's a lot with the 80 grain Fowler's until I started shooting with the Russian small rifle primers. What a difference !!!!!

Bill,

I found a great load w/ 105gr Hornady A-Max/Moly/Lapua Brass/CCI-450/Vit.N-550. Shoots in the low .2's for 5 shots @ 100yds while chugging along @ 2910 fps.

Tried 80gr Sierra Blitz with fair results, .5's with a couple different powders and I've tried 70gr Nosler BT's which my barrel hates. Tried every powder I had with miserable results.

Got a few more bullets to try but these current 100+ temps have slowed me down...

Bill,

Slight update. I'm setting up Badger's 6mmBR and tried 68gr Bergers yesterday in his rig. Very nice groups w/ H-322! May get a few boxes for my 6BR as they are cheaper than Knights or Barts...

Range Update, put out some nice groups yesterday with the 80gr Bergers packed with 27.1grs of varget. Tightest group Shot in the morning was .237 inch.
Thanks again. Robert :)

I am using 31gr varget with 80gr bergers 1:12 twist and 450's. Havent developed my load really at all yet but still hit <1/4moa 5 shots at 100yd in my 6BR.

You gotta love this caliber, easy to load, and shoots 1/4 or less groups :)
Ordered up some different bullets to test >

Sierra 70gr HPBT Matchking
Sierra 85gr HPBT Gameking
Sierra 90gr FMJBT Gameking

Hopefully they get here this week so I can try em out for the weekend and see how they shoot, Crossing my fingers they will have the same results or better.

Also going to order up some Sierra 107gr HPBT, Looks like I've got a few bullets to play with and keep me busy for a little while. :)

Happy Shooting!
