6mmBR giving me fits

Iirc, I've read Bill Calfee saying threading the muzzle can blossom the bore by .0001"

Haven't read all the posts, but I had a barrel that would not do what I thought it should and had the barrel crown redone and helped quit a bit.

I haven't read neck tension here.
My bra opens up with tight un seasoned necks ... And shoots better .005+ in lands.

Much better results today. In fact results, I am very happy with considering the conditions at the range today. After speaking with Frank I decided I was going to keep at my load development and try a few other bullets and loads and see if anything comes together before I did anything drastic and send the barrel back. This weekend I cleaned the barrel good and there has been little to no fouling this entire process and this time was no different. Double checked all my action screws and scope ring screws to ensure everything was good and tight which they were. After looking at the components I had on hand I decided to go back to the 95gr Tipped Match King mainly just because I think it would make a great coyote bullet and still have good enough BC for occasional plinking at longer ranges. Looking back at my range notes I had seen that I didn't try IMR 4064 with this particular bullet so I thought I would give it a shot. 29.5gr at .025" jump provided a 5 shot group I am very happy with for a little hunting rifle. Winds today at the range were horrendous as well, I almost didn't even bother getting my stuff out of the truck. Never mind the shot up at the top left that was from a previous range outing. All in all the rifle shot much better today I had two other groups that measured just over half inch and would have been much better if the wind wasn't so bad. I think I will stick with this load and see how it does out at 300 and if it holds together I'm going to call it done. Thank you all for the help and suggestions. Frank, Also a big thanks to you as well. Customer Service goes a long ways these days and I will be sure to use and recommend your barrels in the future.

Good old IMR never lets me down. For some silly reason I'm always trying something else before coming back to it and discovering excellent accuracy. Every rifle I've ever owned has shot its smallest groups with IMR 4064 or 4350.

Who diagnosed your friends problem and what was the outcome? You just threw out two very reputable names. I have a Gradous built 6.5 on a Bartlein barrel and it is one of the finest shooting rifle I've ever owned. I know if I could only get 3/4 MOA out of it after trying everything my first call would be to Robert and he would gladly trouble shoot it if need be. As in this thread a lot of the good suggestions are among a few of the many other things it could be.

That's why my friend bought the rifle/Gradous and Bartlein. My friend is the 2nd owner so we both think the rifle was sold because it wasn't a great shooter?? Supposedly it only had 250 rounds through it when he got it. Everything else about the rifle is top notch as far as build quality.

Since it's not my rifle I can only make suggestions, I'll tell my friend to call Gradous.

Previous owner could've wrecked or damaged something on the rifle causing problems.

Also we just went thru this with a good local customer. First time they built 6.5CM hunting rifles. He was having accuracy issues and it was the loads. For one the loads where to hot and it was spitting shots. Once he played with the seating depth/tune of the load for 3 shot groups the rifles are shooting in the upper .1xx's and low .2xx's.

Range Report.

Loaded up a few rounds to verify things and headed back to the range. Looks like I finally found the load this rifle likes. Not sure why it had to be so picky, but I am happy with the results, especially for a little coyote rifle. I put five rounds over the Magnetospeed and came up with 2806fps avg with an SD of 4. After getting my 100 zero dialed in I went to 400 meters and fired my last four shots. It's not going to win any matches but it should stack the coyotes just fine.

29.5gr of IMR 4064 is what I ended up with.
