6mmbr for 600 yd f class

potatoe

Silver $$ Contributor
Anyone use it for f class, looking for the good bad and ugly . I've shot a handful of dashers and have a.284 but am really thinking about a plain vanilla 8t 6br

Thanks!

In moderate or less winds, the 6BR is the cartridge to beat: go for it. If it's windy, maybe a 6.5x47L or something else with a little better wind fighting ability.

Yeah, I have the. 284 but this won't be a true fighting comp. gun. I want something nice and easy to load for, good ballistics and low recoil. I liked my dashers but I love shooting and want to be able to go out and shoot without worrying about barrel life

very accurate, great barrel life. On mild winds, it does very good. However, when it gets windy, i think you will drop some 9s. If you are a real good shot, then a 6 br is great.

Same as shootnjunky, I've shoot a plain jane 6br. I can usually post low High Master scores with it. It teaches you to read the wind in heavy wind days and it's just an accurate little cartridge. My shooting buddies mostly shoot a 284 from 300-1000, I always tell them I learn more from my 6br then anything else because the scratch 10 they got with there 284 in a wind change is usually a mid ring 9 for me. You will learn a lot shooting one!

I shot my high master classification with my 6br at 600yds. you will be fine

Ditto

Shot my first clean string with it as well. Flags were stretched out pretty good that day but they were fairly consistent.
