6mmBR action and barrel twist

New to this calibre and looking for advice.
Currently looking at Stiller Diamondback, RPA,partly because am UK based), Borden Rimrock, or Nesika, any thoughts?
Like the idea of a drop port system, - any experiences?

Separate question, looking to use 90g most of the time, unless a specific advantage to 105g. Would I be better with a 1:10, or stick with a 1:8?

Many thanks.

maltbuck, the only action I can speak for in the list is the Borden Rimrock. My 6 X 47 is built on one and it is jam up for sure. As far as twist goes, I would probably want to stay with the 1 - 8 twist as the tight twist seems to work well with most all the weights except for maybe the very lightest but still most guys find it will shoot even those acceptable. Going with a slower twist may not work well with the heavy weights but you never know. Every barrel has it's likes. Bill

As to the twist rate: What are you going to use it for?

For an action, I like Borden and BAT. But, if you want a drop port, everyone has plenty of good things to say about Stiller actions.

For anything over 300yd I would think you would want to shoot 105-108gr bullets in a 1:8 twist barrel.

Bruno's and Russ Haydon seem to have a lot of BAT actions on hand - no waiting and I don't think there's anything better. Shooter's corner has Stiller Predator actions for $750.00,Rem 40X copies - only better - Rem extractor) The difference in price is a stock. CG/Jackson makes a great two stage trigger but they won't fit the BAT hanger.

Hope this helps
Mike

I am a big fan of the Barnard... It has a very stout bolt and I love the bolt release system. I love its recoil lug system and its beefy feel.

I'd prefer that it were available in Stainless, but it is elegant as a blued action.
