6mmBR .270 neck

My gunsmith has a 6mmBR Norma reamer with a .267 neck and one with a .270 neck. If I have him cut my chamber with the .270 neck will I be able to shoot factory Lapua ammunition?
How much neck turning,if any)would be required with Lapua brass?
Thanks.

Howdy! I have a .270 neck, I asked for a .272, as I wanted a no turn neck situation with Lapua brass! My gunsmith says just use Rem brass, no turn! Well I'm using Lapua brass, but turning just enough to have outside dia. of .268 with Burger bullets seated. The sample dummy round he supplied with rifle is Rem. brass neck od .268 no turn. Next one will be built with my own reamer-.272 neck, smith talked me out of that the first time. Not to sorry the way it turned out as it's a one holer, just a little more labor intensive!!

Thanks for the reply,
How much metal are you taking off of the Lapua brass to get it down. I don't mind turning but I was hoping to just clean the necks up by taking off the high spots. Which should be very minimal with Lapua.
Have you checked the factory lapua ammo at all?

factory ammo will mic eerily close to .270...some over, so I would say no.

.271 is min, but i prefer .272

Mark King has a good .272 reamer set for heavy bullets... ;)

The factory ammo I have flares a little bit right at the very end of the case neck--all the way to .272. But that irons out a little as you insert the ammo. measured right in the middle of the neck, it's .270 as Jason said.

A .272 tapering to .271 would probably work. It's the little flare of the unchamfered neck that is the limiter.
