Does anyone have any experience with Robert Whitley's 6mm AR turbo improved uppers. I have a Rock River NM AR that I am considering mounting this upper on. I would like to shoot high power and maybe F class with it. I am new to this sport and have already made some expensive mistakes. Would I be better off putting this $1200 somewhere else??

I have the turbo 40 degree, but it is 16" Kreiger barrel. Accuracy is outstanding. I also have a 6AR 26" that shoots very well. Fireforming is very easy with either one and the fireforming rounds shoot well under 1 moa. I will be competing with the 6AR this weekend in a highpower match. I have not shot enough in the wind to confirm the advantage of the 6mm bullet/velocity yet. I have shot many years with the 223 including 90gr bullets used in highpower. It will be interesting to see how they compare. If you have the money, go for it. Get some 90gr and 105 gr Bergers and your favorite of the powders Robert mentions and your set. Good luck! Ken

I did some testing for Robert on the Turbo when he first brought it out. It is an extremely accurate cartridge with Berger 108 and 90 grain bullets. The best loads were with N540 powder and shot some 1/4 MOA tests at 200M. I have shot one of his 6mmAR's for four seasons and am one of it's biggest fans. He and Fred have turned out a very reliable and accurate upper for those wanting to shoot a 6mm.

+1 to what MATSUBOB said. I'm on my 2nd season with a 6AR using H-4895. With 90 and 105 gr. bullets it is scary accurate. A missed wind change that would give me an 8, or 9 if I was lucky with the 223 is still a mid-ring 10 with the 6AR. Robert is great to work with also, buy with confidence.
