6mmARC bolt rifle

This is with my new for me 6ARC Savage Switchback with 22" Light Varmint barrel with factory brake that I purchased used and an entry level. It's topped with a Athlon Argos 8-34X56 MRAD.

Just completed shooting four OCW powder ladders using a 87gr Hornady VMAX with; BL-C2, TAC, Benchmark and A2460. Those were powders I already had on hand. These were all shot at 200yds, bright sun, 50*, 5-7mph steady headwind. From a bench using front bipod and rear bag. Total of 75 rounds for the 4 powders. Bullet was seated to a slight jamb.

First impression I was unimpressed. Nothing shot anywhere near what I expected. Best was surprisingly from the A2460 mid-level load which has very limited data published for it. Will have to load it again and further investigate. Will have to add some LeveRevolution to the mix as I have been hearing so much for it.

Of these powders the BL-C2 and TAC POI was high across the board the Benchmark was low and the A2460 showed the greatest amount of shift from start to max. Steady incline up from low to high from a powder charge spanning 2 full grains from 25.5 to 27.5. Didn't measure it but looks to be about a 2" rise.

This caliber in a quality rifle should be an absolute tac driver. Just sayin. Lol.

That is what I was lead to believe also. There is also one guy using one in out local league this year and he finished 5th of 22. Last 5 years this league has been dominated by just 2 guys.
