I've shot .243AI's quite bit, and a .240Gibbs, but never a 6mmAI until this one. A friend's 6AI's shoot 70 BalTips at a bit over 4100 and says it's a very accurate cartridge. That's what I wanted and he built me one on a 26" Bartlein 12 twist barrel. It's a .273nk chamber with 0 freebore. Zeroing the newly installed scope was done with fireforming loads at 50yds to get an idea about what this thing will do. And zeroed at that distance it's also on at about 225 or so. Brass is WW .257R lightly turned and necked to .243, comes out a bit longer than 6mm brass. I was told what load to use and was amazed at how well this cartridge shoots.

Again, 3 shot groups at 50yds. After sighters, group 1 (lower middle) wasn't til the 3rd shot and the hole elongated a bit I realized they were pretty much in the same hole. Upper left group 2 same thing. So the fireform load is there and sighted in. I expect to be pleased with groups at 200 and more. This will be a rockchuck gun.
****Remember back 12 (?) years or so there were a bunch of youtube videos of "taliban in Afghanistan being shot with a .50 by US snipers". They were being launched in pieces. And people claimed it was actually them, or friend/husband/cousin/etc, pulling the trigger or taking the video. Or it was really mountain goats or other such thing. Remember all that nonsense? Those clips were pirated from a varmint video done by a friend. Spectacular rockchuck launches were caused by 75 Vmaxes from........a 6mmAI. Works real good.
