6mm x 47 Lapua forming ??

What is the best way to form 6mm x 47 from 6.5 x 47 Lapua brass?? I ordered a Forster Full length die from Midway to start with. I will have custom bushing dies once they get back from heat treating. What is the general rule out there now for neck size ??,268,270,272) I haven't had my 30in Krieger's reamed as yet !!!
Thanx again....

I ordered a reamer from Pacific with a .272 neck for the 6x47 Lapua after I measured my brass neck thickness on the 6.5 x 47 cases.I was prepared to skim the necks on the neck turner to achieve a .270 loaded round for the 6x47 Lapua. I ordered a Foster full lenght die with a .268 neck and ran the 6.5 x 47 brass into it right out of the box.The sized cases fit my neck turner mandrel perfectly and most of the necks took two thirds of the brass knocked off to clean them up.
I used Hornady spray on case lube on the out side and STP on the inside of the necks applied with a Q tip for sizing.
I must say I am a bit disappointed with the quality of my batch of brass as the flasholes had a bur in many of them and the neck thickness variance could have been better for 74 cents a piece.

Stevey, I have hollered a good bit to Lapua about the flashhole burs...you might want to do the same.

As far as neck diameters...loaded diameters with several top bullets ran ~.2705-.2708...so I opted for a .273 as a no-turn...

RE: forming from a 6.5x47 case...going straight to 6x47 via the Forster FL die gave me neck scratches...here is the solution...

------------

Did my first run last night using the 6mmBR Redding Body die as an intermediate...WORKED PERFECT NO scratches...

-Debur and lube outer neck lightly
-6mmBR Redding Body die, sizes the neck to ~.274OD)
-6x47 Forster FL Die,~.2685 OD)
-load

Enough of the neck was sized to allow a slight crush fit when chambering for better forming...Redding Comp shellholders are a great aid to get this fit...

JB, you said about the Foster die scratching the necks.I have their standard full lenght for my 6BR that I use before neck turning for a .264 chamber and it leaves ugly scratches.BUT I also needed another die after the cases were neck turned with a.259 neck and that die leaves no scratches whatsoever.

The 6x47 full lenght that I had them do up with the .268 neck does not leave scratches so maybe the scratching is only associated with the standard dies as I have the same problem with my 6 br standard die but I neck turn them anyhow.
