6mm Varmint build

Honestly...for as much time and energy as I spent trying to get the remington 700 to feed, $999 is a bargain!

Plus you get an already true action, a much more precison built bolt...what’s not to like!

It looks like Bugholes sells them for $925 but he’s out of stock. Of course I bought mine when it sold for $1100. It’s like I can smell out a deal...NOT

Good luck whatever direction you decide.

I've owned a 243 most of my life, but I prefer the Dasher. I read up on modifying to feed from a Remington BDL mag but couldn't make it work. I consider myself fairly handy, but met my match on that project. Can you get Magpul mags in 5 round capacity? I don't like the magazines hanging out on my hunting rifles. The Kwikclip mags do scratch the brass somewhat, but they fit flush with the bottom of the stock.
Yes all I shoot are the 5 rounders. They fit. In my ai bottom metal. I’ll try to get a part #. If your having problems with your rem bottom metal feeding. Make sure it’s for a 308 based cartridge. Then load your cartridges towards the front of the box

Thanks for the helpful information. I'm leaning toward the 6BRAI so I can keep the charge weight and recoil to a minimum. Still hoping to get some load data for it for 70-90 grain bullets.

I went with the Dasher, used the new Norma Dasher Brass and the 70 Gr.Nosler BT. 3480 fps in a 22" barrel. Feeds great in a standard Magazine. I only put 3 in the Magazine but there are a lot of other good options. IMR 8208 XBR and Varget are both good powder choices. Sweet......

My 6x47L feeds so smooth, i almost wanna 'press check' it after running the bolt. And that's only almost as good as the ol' .243 Win, which just can't wait to jump in the chamber, all the time, every time...

Since you're running AICS/DBM, I'd blow 'er out to 243AI. They still feed without issue, and you'll have plenty more pedal underfoot to push your bullet of choice beyond where any smaller case can manage, safely...

Have fun!

I'm currently waiting on a custom 1:8 twist 6XC 20" Krieger barrel to be finished for my R93 Blaser. It will be for coyotes, with a Creative Arms Suppressor on it, a simple 3-9x Trijicon Accupoint scope. Easy to feed out of a 22/250 magazine insert, under 9 pounds finished with the scope/can and should be able to shoot 70gr Sierra Blitz Kings at 3300fps.

I have a Stiller Tac 30 actioned rifle chambered in 6XC with a 10 twist barrel at 24". Feeds flawlessly from P-mags. I shoot 80gr BT's mostly at over 3400fps but have plans to load some 69gr FB Varmint Bergers at light speed
