6mm Remington article

Just read the 6mm Remington article by Bryce Towsley in the Sept 6 issue of American Rifleman. First thing I've read in print in a long time about the cartridge. Nice overview. I've been shooting one for 32 years now - and find it to be everything the .243 Winchester is, and a bit more. Glad to see something in print, regarding this fine cartridge that never really made it as a commercial success.

It's making a comeback as a 1K target rifle cartridge with the excellent 115 DTAC

Now that's interesting - I hadn't heard that... Have wondered a time or two about getting a 6mm Rem barrel made up for my LR/Prone match rifle... Hmmm... Maybe I should think about that a bit more seriously.

BTW - just loaded up a batch of 6mm Rem ammo for my son to use during mule deer season:

R-P brass, CCI 200 primers, 47.5 gr Reloader 22, and 100 gr Nosler Partitions. Not a true tackdriver, but hovers around one MOA out to 300 yards - which should be sufficient. I'll try it over a chronograph shortly. In the past it has clocked just a bit under 3000 fps from the 22" Remington barrel.

Regards, Guy
