I am replacing the barrel in a Rem 700 long action to upgrade the varmint rifle I carry in the truck every day. From what I read, a 14-twist 6mm Remington AI is a good choice. I reload so brass and ammo will be no problem. I see numbers quoted about velocities, but only "accuracy is good" when it comes to accuracy. I would like to read that one can easily get .25" groups at 100 yards, but specific numbers are not quoted, only "good accuracy." The term "good accuracy" can mean vastly different things to different people. My idea of good accuracy is .25" or less groups.
So my question is: specifically, what accuracy can one expect from a 6mm Remington AI? The rifle is in a H-S precision stock already.
Thank you for your comments.
