6mm-rem ackley-257

I do'nt know if this has been done,a 6mm rem ack-257 if not can it be i'm looking to do something a little different and i've to much time on my hands. If it can be done weres the best place for dies and reamers. This with 110 gr. acubonds should be a nice deer round. Thanks for all you future help Rich

Not sure which you're talking about. There's a 6mmmAI and a .257AI. They've both been around for a long time.

Should not be a problem Rich. Just neck down to 6mm, you may have to get some dies modified or custom made, bushing dies).
That is a wildcat round that has probably been done for a long time. Do some research and you will find it somewhere.

dubya.

Why not look at a 6mmx22-250 AI?
The brass is plentiful, relatively inexpensive, easily formed and will handle up to the 115 gr bullets, depending upon bbl twist.
You end up with slightly more case capacity than the 6XC, and can use that loading data as a starting point.
You end up with very close to .243 velocities with a lot less powder used and throat erosion.
The cartridge is extremely accurate also.

The 257AI and the 6mmAI are both based on the 7X57Mauser case and are the same except for bullet diameter. Both are excellent varmint to medium sized game cartridges.

That is what I was thinking! Just didn't take the time to look it up.. but I thought that it was the 7x57 Mauser case.
