6mm ppc

using a 24 inch barrel how fast can a 68 grain bullet be pushed?am looking for a 300 to 400 yard groundhog gun.the reason for the choice of this is the records that this round hold.i would cocider something else if the acc of said ppc can be maintained or real close.

Why not a 6 BR? The PPC has the success it has due to competitors who intimately know the cartridges idiosyncracies (tuning)....shooters who run several thousand PPC rounds down range every year. Most successful competitors adjust their powder charge in-between relays to achieve perfect tune.
I honestly, don't believe you will ever tell the difference in accuracy between a 6 PPC and a 6 BR in a varmint gun.....based on an aggregate (averaging the groups over many shots fired over a variety of weather conditions).
With the BR , you also incease effective range.

70 gr B-tips at 3400 without out any problems. 60 gr bergers at 3700 in a no turn neck formed from 6.5 grendel brass.

I don't think the trade offs are worth making a varmint gun in the 6PPC caliber unless you plan to have it as a specialized extreme long distance gun that you won't use all that much. To achieve the level of accuracy they are known for you have to put a considerable effort working expensive brass, and fine tune the load as conditions change. Most benchrest shooters clean between relays, so unless you are willing to clean all the time, the accuracy won't be much better than a custom gun in more common calibers like the .223, .204 and .22-250.

A no turn 12 or 14 twist 6mmBR would be a better choice for what you describe. Minimal brass prep, and while good brass is still expensive, it isn't as expensive as the 220 Russian used for the PPC. Many shooters would have a difficult time shooting a 6PPC better than a 6BR anyway.
