6mm ppc reamer 2026

I am to the point i need to re-barrel a panda .262 neck 6mm PPC. I want to increase the neck to a min of .267. What reamer should I order? Currently shooting 68gr bullets, barrel will be a min of 13.5" twist.

Here is the one I got last year. Shoots very well with custom 65gr BT in a 13.75-13.85 gain twist. JGS was excellent to work with and shipped as per expectation. I also have a rougher and resizer reamer to match up.

That's different. I hadn't seen a throat/hand-off like that before. With a 0.065" free bore do you have any trouble holding enough of the bullet bearing surface in the neck.

Haven’t had any issues. Likely have .100” ish in the neck with shorter bullets (64g fb) and a bit more with the 65g. It’s very similar to the reamer that Wayne C is currently using.
I generally load 5 - 13 thou back of touch.

I tried a “bore rider” back when it was first conceived several years back. It was the same grind that the late Gene Bukys tried.

It did not like N133, but shot pretty good with a hot load of LT-32.

I think it had a lot to do with the initial pressure curve.

I switched back to my standard .269 neck, 1 1/2 degree lead at .050 Freebore, because on any given day it will shoot N133 Or LT-32.

Can you send a dimension for the .055 freebore reamer. A drawing would be appri rated. I prefer less freebore.

My mistake, it’s .050 Freebore. I doubt I have a copy. I have been using that same reamer for my personal barrels for well over 15 years.

What was being or trying to be accomplished with the bore rider type reamer? Consistent bullet sizing prior to entering the real bore? Manipulation of pressure curve?

From what I have seen, I would go no turn. When they shoot smaller than you can aim, Im not sure you can improve on it. Nothing special on the throat needed. Just hit the reamer lottery. Order 3 and try them all.

Alex, with the Alpha 6PPC brass, that is not a bad idea.
The ones I have bought are very consistent in neck thickness. If they can hold this in future lots, a no neck turn is certainly not a bad idea.

Was out at the range yesterday with a friend and 3 shot groups at 300yards when he got the right condition were in the high .2s to low .3s with virgin no turn Alpha. Afternoon mirage in Florida. Its not possible to shoot smaller in the conditions we had in my opinion.
