6mm PPC in an AR15

So the 6.5Grendel is just a 6PPC necked up to 6.5mm but has anyone ever put a 6PPC in an AR15.
I know the PPC is just dripping with accuracy. It makes me wonder how I should go about my first AR ::)

Might could, but I'd sooner do a 6-6.8SPC, 6WOA, or 6mmDTI on that boltface.

Or, stick with .223 based for ease of availability, and do a 6x45. The 6x45 with <85gr. bullets is a HONEY from a quality AR-15!!!

several people did it starting over 20 years ago. It shoots very well but is not a plug and play setup, so it's not for everybody.

the 6.5 G is not just a expanded PPC, the shoulder is in a different spot and it adds capacity.

From what I read about the 6PPC and 6.5Grendal I would need a barrel chambered and a bolt carrier for the 6.5grendal because it is the same size as the 6PPC

The case head and consequently, the bolt face are the same. The Grendel's shoulder is .070" further forward than the ppc, giving a little more capacity.
As for the ppc in an AR...It's been done for years. The only problem is that the AR15 platform does not hold up well(at all!) to typical BR rifle pressures, so loads must be worked up with this in mind. The difference is substantial. The case head being larger than that of 223/5.56 creates more bolt thrust. Pressures that are very workable in a 223/556 AR15 are not workable with the larger case head of a ppc or a grendel. They shear lugs from the bolt, quickly at bolt gun pressures. Larger case head = greater bolt thrust at = chamber pressures! What makes the ppc great is due in part to the powders and pressures that are utilized in bolt action rifles firing it. Those pressures can be well over 65,000psi. In an AR with a standard ppc/grendel/7.62x39 bolt, the max pressures will be limited to 50,000 or less.

Take a look at the 6mm Fat Rat. 6BR performance out of the Grendel case. Easy to make too.
