6mm on the 6.5 x 47 lapua

Can't tell exactly which one you mean, but that's okay cause they are both very good rounds.

The 6.5x47 Lapua brass has always been very good, so it also made good wildcat 6mmx47 ammo.

In the 6.5mm I like the 130 - 140 grain bullets with H4350.

In the 6mm, I run the 100 - 108 grain bullets with H4350. With the shortages, I had to be flexible and use what I could find.

I also have both, they are extremely easy to load for.
I found that Staball 6.5 to work well in my 6.5 x 47 with 136 sceners
and just started load development with Sierras 105s and Leverlution believe it or not
As for the 6 x 47 I can't find any bullet it can't shoot and it likes VV 550

I've shot the 87 V-max out of a 6x47L in a 26" 1:8 Broughton. It is easily sub MOA out to 350 yards, which is the farthest I have shot that load.

Not for GH, but coyotes and long range plinking.....Imma fan.......

I've had 7 or 8 6x47 Lapuas, with barrels from 18" to 26". I always start with Berger 105 Hunting VLD's and H-4350, and generally never have to look any further.

Mine is a deer hunting rifle. 90 grn. Swift Scirocco, 95 grn. Hornady SST. I use Varget. I shoot .5 grn. less with the 95 SST than the Scirocco. I’ve shot several deer out to 300 yds. with both bullets. Easy to make brass, easy to tune.
Nesika action 8 twist 26”Kreiger.
I didn’t build it for a varmint gun. I’ve shot nothing but deer and targets with it. We don’t have much in the way of varmints except for an occasional coyote and once in a blue moon a hog. I hunt by Santee S.C.

I have one of the 6x47 L from Alf.

I am running 70 gr TNTs & 58 gr VMAX for wood chucks. Sierra's manual has data, I've used R-15, 4895, 4064, N140, lots of good options.

I will probably deer hunt with 6x47 L this year. 95 gr BTs or 85 gr partitions. I have been running 107 gr SMK & H4350 for punching paper before I switch to deer loads.

If you’re going to use it as a groundhog and varmint rifle then I would go with a 1-9 or 1-10 twist barrel with a short enough throat to seat your bullet to the bottom of the neck.

with a 85 to 90 grain bullet what are your faverae loadsi want to get a 1 in 8 twist barrel that that is 26 inches long and put it on my shilen dga action.it willbe my ground hog gun .also
