6mm Drop

Just wanting to know ive got my 6mmBR zeored at 100yards and i want to shoot out at 300 yards how much will the bullet drop. Im using 107 SMK's. Cheers

Chris,

assuming your scope is 1.5" above the bore centreline, it'll drop 11.9" if your MV is 2,900 fps and 13" if it's 2,800 fps - both under standard ballistic environemntal conditions (59-degrees F, 29.92" mercury).

In practical terms, raise your sights 4-MOA from your zero and you'll be close.

It will vary with the climate conditions but the above 2 suggestions "should" get you close. Every day is a new ZERO ;D

CJ6 nailed it. Thursday this week it was 15 degrees and my 6br took 7 clicks to zero at 200. 15 clicks at 300. I have no idea what my MV is. Scope measures 1.7 above center of bore.

That's pretty close to the charts, but you really want to shoot the distances and make your own chart. I was off one click from the chart at 300. Not a big deal but I would imagine at 500 I'm probably off the paper if I go with the ballistic chart. I need a 550 yard zero so I need to work on that.

It's all fun.

Take care,
JLM
