6mm Dasher Loads

It's funny - in the past I never had good results with #450 primers as an accuracy primer in smaller capacity cartridges (i.e. 6mmAR, 6mm Turbo 40, 6mm BR, 6.5 x 47 Lapua) yet I see many saying that's their primer of choice with the Dasher. Is there a verified specific reason why the #450 primer is a "best choice" vs a non-magnum primer (i.e. BR-4, etc.)?

Prior to this I have always avoided the #450's like the plague because the accuracy I obtained with them never seemed as good or as consistent as with other non-magnum small rifle primers, and I just cannot reconcile things here.

I like you have not gotten good accuracy with CCI 450s. I tried some today versus BR4 and 400s and they just don't work well in my Dasher. Others at our local range use the 450s with great results but I can't get ultimate accuracy with them.

32.0 grains VV N140, 105 Lapua naked bullets +10, CCI 450 primers. I also am having great success with 32.6 gr. of RL15 same otherwise-chrono was 2990 fps. The RL15 load last night at 600 yards had 5 shots into 3.55" and 4 of the shots were 1.625",which is great for me. The N140 produced a 5 shot 2.495" group last week. This using a factory stocked,H-S Precision), trued up Remmy with a 26" Lilja barrel-no turn neck, which was chambered by Jerry S. It is a light duty, medium long range prairie dog gun, little varmints watch out) that I am also using to punch paper.

Been fire forming -load and shoot - now with 32.0 grains of RL15 using the Amax jammed.

I have a recent thread with some of this information in it.

Thanks,

Woody
