6mm Dasher In A Repeater??

I come across people making statements about how the 6mm Dasher is finicky about feeding from a magazine.. For you guys with some experience with this please tell what you did or what's important to pay attention to for proper mag feeding. Ex., with my 6.5x47L I filed out my mag well so the bullets would feed long and into the chamber etc... Is their any small things like this that has to be done for the Dasher?? Thanks..

I had a 6 Dasher built on a Marlin X7. It does not have a detachable magazine or clip. I don't like them. It's my coyote carry rifle and I am completely satisfied with it. It feeds fine, all four rounds. I don't think anything was done to the action to achieve this. To be absolutely honest about it, you could check with Randy Gregory at Accuracy Unlimited and ask him, as he put it together. Barlow

Lots of guys doing it in the PRS Series. The Dasher is gaining ground there. I've never heard of any issues feeding from AI mags.

On occasion I shoot around the #2 PRS guy at a club I am in. He shoots a 6 Dasher in a 5 and 10 round mag, I think Badger Ord, but not positive. He hammers that thing and I have never seen a malfunction when he was running hard or slow.

because the Dasher has a slightly longer sidewall it's easier to get it to feed than a straight BR

I don't shoot competition but I have a 6BR and a Dasher built on Sako 75s I use for varmint calling. They both feed without any problem. Originally they were chambered in 22-250.

Ar

Are you talking about Joe Walls??

Yes sir, Joe Walls is correct. Very nice guy and heck of a marksman.
Yea, I shot with Joe at the last Woody's match.. I didn't know at the time he was using a Dasher.. I later found out he was.. I was supposed to give him a call after the match to buy a Hawk Hill 6mm 1-7.5 twist barrel he set aside but because of Christmas I didn't call him till January and missed out on the thing.. I may just stick with Bartlein for now..

His shop OTM is about 3 minutes from my place. I have been thinking of moving to some form of 6mm. I only shoot informal steel and paper, too old to run and gun any more. He keeps talking up the HH barrels, so I thought I may pick one up to see how it shoots. He does like that Dasher though, not sure I want to go that route, but some form of 6mm.
