6mm Creedmoor Freebore

The folks doing my 6mm Creedmoor barrel have two reamers both 275 neck and a 123 or 190 on freebore. I want to ask the experts here for their opinion. The bullets I intend to use would maybe be

Hornady 108 eld
107 Smk
105 Hornady match

and maybe
95 Smk or Berger

Kind of the same bunch or bullets that Ranger188 replied to in spudguns post

Thanks guys

I have a 6mm Creedmoor with a .109" Freebore and it is "WAY TOO SHORT". The Hornady 81393 Factory 87grn V-Max Varmint Express Ammo is too long for my chamber. I'm currently shooting the Sierra 1515 80grn Varminter Bullets with good results.

This is the print of the reamer Dana English used to do my 6mm Creedmoor build. 150 freebore for use with 105 Berger Hybrid Target in particular. I bought the reamer as I think it is something worth owning for future barrels. Didn't cost much.

Best option is to load up a dummy to where you want the bullet seated in the case. Send it to JGS and have a reamer made. OR, send it to your smith for proper throating.

its hard to shoot the 108 eldm and a 105 berger… the eldm is quiet a bit longer than the rest of them bullets... if your dead set on the 108 eldm go with the 190... I shoot mainly the 105 berger hybrids in mine and the free bore is 150 and about perfect...

I know it's hard to pick a bullet so early on but, each bullet has a different
design whether it's a secant or tangent.
You could have a longer bullet but it might have a longer jump and a shorter bullet might have a
shorter jump. Try to decide what bullet you have more confidence in or will suit your needs.
All of the mentioned ones are pretty easy to get. I won't tell you whats the best freebore
because if you pick a certain bullet and it doesn't work, then you blame me.
Theirs quite a difference between a 95g and a 107g or 110g
The 6 Creed will burn the barrel out faster than some other calibers, no getting around that
unless you run it at 2800 fps, but then what's the point of getting it.
Do your home work and see what is working for others with the same bullet you want to
run.
The 275 neck is a no turn neck, so you wouldn't have to turn necks if you don't want to.

.276 neck, 160FB, 115 DTAC’S..2 good nodes 2940fps and 3025. Lapua brass SRP and CCI 450’s. H4350. 1:7 twist

What would you recommend for the 115gr RDF ? Thx

Bumping an oldie as I have this question too. This will be my first 6mm and it's hardwork figuring this stuff out with no experience of the caliber. The bullets I have in mind currently are the RDF and DTAC for 115's; and 107 SMK, 108 ELD-M if I go lighter. Is it even possible to have a freebore that will do all?

Did you have this made to your spec, or is this one of their standard reamers ? I would like one the same but not sure if this is just proprietary to you ? Thanks.
