6mm Coyote

Can someone tell me what is the parent case for forming this cartridge and how is it made? Any and all info would be appreciated. TIA

The parent case is the 6.5x47 Lapua . David kiff has the reamers and you will have to have your dies made . Jerry Simison was one of the guys that came up with it . from what i can tell it is not that much differant than a standard 6-6.5x47 Lapua and you can buy dies from Redding and others that would be alot cheaper on your pocket book to get one up and running . I don't know anything about the current 6mm Coyote that Shooter talked about, but there were several wildcats back in the 20th Century that used the "Coyote" moniker. The late Harold Broughton and the current Speedy Gonzales used them.

save yourself a lot of money, & go with a 6x250 ackley imp.you wont be disapointed.. all this hipe over these 6x47 lapua is bulls--t. all that is better is the brass..i use norma in mine & it works great.. it works out to a 6x48.5 if u want to go metric..good luck..btw. i got some 6x47 lapua brass from "snakeeye" to try, i"ll keep you posted on how it works after i fireform it..

rockjag4, Sometimes all it take to make a difference, is good brass. I don't think there is as much "fluff" in the 6 X 47 as some do. But, I've been shooting all my life and handloading since 1996 and the tightest group I every shot has been with my 6 X 47 Shehane at 500 yds. which is a .991. I've had several BR shooters,which I am not) to say they would take that anytime. Just my opinion. Bill

The 6x47 Shehane and the 6 Coyote are so close that it is not funny, from what i can read and tell anyway . Cheechako the 6 Coyote that he was asking about and that i was talking about is a new cartridge that Jerry came out with a year or so ago to shoot 600yd BR with and him and some of the guns he has built have been doing pretty good . It just has a little more giddy up than the standard 6-6.5x47 .
