6mm bullets

I'm headed towards a 6mm Rem Cooper Varmint rifle. Ive done a lot of reloading for 22-250 but never for a 6. My question is, what have you found to be the most accurate bullets for the 6mm? Again, this is a varmint rifle, but the reality is that it will see more time at the range than in the field.

I just had a 6mm Rem built and will be taking it varminting in a couple weeks. For me the Berger 80 g shot the best, one hole good. I worked up Nosler 80 g at the same time and got a couple promising groups but the Bergers shot too good to quick, I just didn't want to mess with it. I only tried a couple powders as I didn't have a whole lot of time. For me 4064 at 41.5 was the ticket.

I know a whole bunch of folks shoot 75 g vmaxes but I wanted a little heavier bullet for the wind.

I've got a 243 and a 6MMAI and they both love Hornady's Vmax bullets. If you like to mess with something different consider the Ackley version, assuming Cooper offers one)..I dig mine!!

Factory varmint bullets are awfully good and there's no predicting what's most accurate. Bottom line is.....the most accurate 6mm bullet is the one that shoots best in your rifle. That's something you have to find for yourself. I've shot a whole bunch of 70TNT's in a 13 twist 243AI at 3850.....it's what the gun likes and they do a good job. The #2 gun, same make barrel with the same chamber but different twist, likes 70BT's and a friend's custom 65/ 70gr bullets. There's a #3 barrel and it may/may not shoot best with what works in the other guns. Pick a few bullets you're interested in and try them, go with what's most accurate.

BikeEffects,

I use 70 gr Sierria Blitzking in my 6BR's. The 87gr Vmax is one of the best long range varmint bullets out there.

The Berger bullets will give you the best accuracy. 68gr to the 95gr will shoot in your 6mm Rem.
