6mm brx again

ok, I've got it to where it regularly shoots 2 1/2" ten shot groups at 300 but i know it can do better. what else can i do for more accuracy? i won my first 1000 yd match with it, but i know it can do better. At 100 it'll only do about 3/8". i'm trying both berger and a-max 105's between 33 and 33.5 varget with wolf small rifle primers.

goldy1,

without more details of your load info. Maybe try RL15, other primers, seating depth change, other bullets Berger 108 BT, Bib's 108gr.

I tried a varget/105VLD/rem71/2 or fed 205m load combo for about 200 rounds. It gave me fits. 3 shot groups were in the .9-1.0 inch range at 200y. I slowly switched to RL15/105 sceanar/ CCI BR4 and the groups shrank to .4-.6 5 shot groups. Looking back throught the range log I think switching bullets was the biggest factor.

what do you think about the RL17, think that might help any? i'll see what i can pick up locally. RL15 and maybe some 17

If I tried 17 I might put a 115 DTAC on top of it. Lots of 105-108grain bullets shoot really well at 3000 fps and 17 might be too fast.

It works great in my 260 to get my hunting loads to 2950 fps.

Neck Tension is one of the biggest factors in accuracy. You need to control that so that all your bullets seat with the same pressure.

I combine low seat pressure with seating bullets into the lands. Let the bbl finish the seating process, it will be the most consistent.

That is what works for me in all of my rifles, BRX included.

Forget the 115 gr bullets in the BRX, there just isn't enough boiler room to gain an advantage. The 107-105 gr bullets are faster and the 115's BC advantage cannot overcome the faster, lighter bullet in the BR size of cases.
