6mm bra & 108 BT Target. Discussion

I shoot a 6mm bra (made by Planfield Precision in NC)
I shot 105 vld last year. My first year IBS. (ROOKIE) I stayed middle of the pack with some 1.7" groups sometimes!
Averaged 5" over all I believe.
I've seen a sway toward 108's. So I went and bought 2k for next yr.
Now I'm realising they are BT Target not vld, hybrids ....
What's the school of thought on the quality of these BT Target for bench rest 100-1k yrds?
Btw, I use varget only.

Shouldn't be any issue the 108 has a BC of .522 and Hybrid at.536, The 108 calls for 1/8 twist and the Hybrid calls for 1/7 twist if you have a 1/7 your good for both if you have a 1/8 then you might be better with 108 depends, Berger has a twist rate calculator so take your velocity on both bullets and run the calculator.

If you choose not to use them... they’ll sell fast in a forum classified add!

I've tried several different bullets in my 6BRA, although I shoot F-class as opposed to benchrest. Still, in good (calm) conditions my 6BRA will outshoot anything on the range. The Berger 105gr VLD (hunting) and 108gr BT both work very well, easy to tune and get shooting well. The other bullet which shows excellent promise is the 105gr Lapua Scenar L. For overall accuracy I would suggest the 108 BT trumps the 105 VLD - just. You can jam or jump the 108 10 thou either way and it's probably going to do very well for you.

I dont care what type of bullet it is as long as it makes small groups at long distances.
Use what works for your rig and not what is trending.
The Berger 108 is a great bullet and used by many shooters.
Good luck

The Berger 108 is the only bullet I shoot in my Dasher. I have shot 107 SMK's, Hybrids, Nosler RDF's, Nosler 105's. Sure they all make holes in the targets, but the easiest to load, accurate, simple to tune (mine work from 10 out to 40 out without any issues), the most consistent LTO (my loads from the same batch) are within .001 LTO from round to round is the Berger 108 BT.

Getting ready for a 1K match this weekend I had cleaned the tar out of my barrel with over 2K rounds through it. Went to the range today to dirty up the barrel and at 300 yards with irons off a rest, I shot a 147-6x on at 300 yard F Class target. Still accurate after over 2K rounds.

Did I mention I like the 108 Berger BT's?

I just weighed and measured 500. These 108's were so much more consistent in both areas than the 105's of last year.
I'm hoping I am also !
