6mm br vrs 7mm br, what's the difference

A fellow shooter and I were talking. We wondered if 7mm br brass could be made into 6mm br brass.
What say ye ?

i think you will find, that 7 mm brass does not have the quality of brass like lapua.
so while you can do it, why ?

It's made from 6br brass, all lapua

About .041 in diameter. In reality he would need a 6mm barrel and have it chambered for 6 BR. Matt

I think he is talking about making 6BR brass out of 7BR brass. Yes, just run the 7mm into the 6mm die....... but you may have to neck turn if your 6mm neck is tight. I would anneal before I did anything.

It is a totally different animal, Remington brass is smaller at the .200 line than Lapua brass so if it is a Remington chamber, it will need opened up for Lapua ........ Jim

It is no big deal to make from Lapua brass, if you have the right chamber to shoot it in....... Jim

I sure would not ruin 7br brass making 6br. Sell it or trade it even up for lapua.
