I just test-fired a new chamber (no turn neck). The overall unfired case length was 1.555", the neck was .268" diameter with a Smkhp seated, the shoulder was .458" dia, and the web 1/8" in front of the extraction groove was .467" dia.
The corresponding fired case dimensions were 1.555", .270", .460", and .469". The case extracted smoothly, and will rechamber in 4 headstamp orientations 90 degrees apart. The 205M primer is moderately flattened.
The headspace is pretty tight. The bolt won't rotate on a go-gage, but will close smoothly on an unfired Lapua hull, and on a Lapua case loaded with a 70gr Smkhp (the test load).
This is new territory for me, and I would like to know if these are acceptable dimensions for a 6 BR.
Thanks, Tom
